Allegorithmic Substance Player is a utility meant to help you create variations of substances created with Substance Designer 2 or purchased from Allegorithmic's Substance Hub.
Substances, such as stone, concrete, cartoon or wood can be processed so that they have the look you prefer. The parameters to be changed will vary from substance to substance. For example, when it comes to stonework, you can modify parameters such as: interstices size, the angle under which light falls on the material, saturation, luminosity, contrast or the shape and color of the stones.
The program was designed for Windows XP / Vista / 7 (32 - bit only) and you need quite a good configuration on your computer in order to use it properly, with a minimum of 512 MB video RAM and a recommended 2GB RAM .The supported import file formats are SVG, BMP, TGA, GIF, JPG, PNG, DDS, TIF and others, while work can be exported in the formats: BMP, TGA, GIF, JPG, PNG, XPM, TIF, WBM, PGM and more. Files can also be exported to Maya, with the .mel extension.
Though intuitive enough where basic operations are involved, Allegorithmic Substance Player is not for the ones that are beginners, when it comes to working with such pieces of software.
